Landscapes

My earlier endeavors in art consisted of wordplay, printmaking, and political themes.  My perspective has shifted towards nature, and its safe-keeping.  I paint from memory, photographs, and that place in-betweeen.  Many are visions of places I’ve been to, or places I have yet to see.  The paintings pay homage to the earth and are an alchemical vehicle through which I manifest my thoughts. Sometimes I include objects of human industrialization, a symbolic commentary, my art school visions still with me.  Underneath most paintings is an initial layer of distressed metallics, to simulate an antique aesthetic.  It shows through to the surface of the painting, adding historical depth.  Works are Acrylic on Canvas or Masonite.  Sizes in inches.
